The 2014 ukadia Conference was again a huge success, with feedback from delegates saying it was ‘the best yet’ and ‘already looking forward to the next!’
Dr Lucy Kimbell and Rt Hon John Denham MP provided us with thought-provoking and disturbing scenarios of possible futures for the specialist arts higher education sector, and the workshops provided added stimulation and opportunities for participation.
We were delighted that Ravensbourne hosted the conference in their groundbreaking building, and delegates stated that the tours given by Ravensbourne student ambassadors were ‘fantastic and informative’.
The conference was preceded by the Private View of Mapping Territory, a collaborative exhibition of 22 students from ukadia member institutions across the country. The Private View was opened by Grayson Perry CBE, who also spent time speaking to each of the students about the work that they had created especially for the exhibition. The exhibition website is available here.
Ryan Shorthouse, Director of Bright Blue, gave the after dinner speech.
